The next many day days to come :)

Getting through the cold for the next few months!
Time has changed. Temperature has dropped. Night is here way earlier than I like it to be and still, the best way to stay happy in the cold is to have an awesome housemate who will eat all of these in the cold with you at midnight!
:)
For the next few weeks, the blog posts will come up occasionally as and when, since my right hand swells up ever too often now and....work is hectic of course
:D

Raya Haji in London Day 62

So stubborn. I cooked wearing a white cardigan and even after multiple pleads from Su to go upstairs and change, I refused. Can you imagine, to walk up the stairs, through the cold, just to change into a black t shirt so that I can not stress out if the oil spills on me?

Yes, the temperature has dropped now! Like tremendously. It's icy cold and there were frosts at night! Sejuk nya lah please! Oh well, that still did not stop us from cooking a whole load of food to bring Raya to London :)
It was a really good Raya Haji, Alhamdulillah :):)
YiingRen's Malaysian, but he ate like he has never tried Malaysian food before! and Paul, I always just forget that he is Singaporean, coz we've sort of Malaysianized him. The two smarty pants in class...who is FOREVER late! Too funny!
Our new happy member in the house, Sya has permanently become our housemate, she knows the house inside out! Just love having her around to test our food once we've finished cooking :) And Jamie and Maria? They loved the rendang, but of course they got a shock at how much 'santan' we actually used in all our food, they decided to go home and jog!! Judgemental people, pfft.
-_______-
With this amazing beautiful girl, who has managed to convert me to love everything about Thailand, especially her Thai Salad! Pak and Jo Yee decided to make banoffee pie for the open house, which I attacked almost immediately :):):)
With my awesome coursemates! Watching us play 'animal game', you would NEVER think we're pursuing our Masters in Financial Engineering. We're fun like that! :P
I LOVE THEM! In school and outside school :)
Of course towards the end of the night, we all got a wee bit too comfortable, everyone snuggled up...and changed into pyjamas? Haha! Don't judge me and my very comfy 'cupcake' pants!
These two sunggled up real good alright!! I had to bribe both of them with food to get out of the blanket!
Best and happy when we're together - my gorgeous awesome housemates! :)
Raya Haji open house. Checked!!

Magical Fat Day 61

This is magical!
All the food we've been cooking the past 7 hours had loadssss of this in it. Like super loads, if you're not the one cooking, you will never know why we Malaysians grow sideways oh so very quickly. At the end of the day, only the cook will know how many packets of this very 'magical fat' were used!

We're fattening up the 50 people tomorrow alright! Muahaha! But right now...my housemates and I are only halfway done with the rendang and lontong. Oh god so penat, and this rendang takes forever to 'pecah minyak'! We are so gonna crash right after the open house tomorrow.

Like a Freak Day 60

It's Raya Haji in Malaysia tomorrow and Su and I are planning to do a little open house over the weekend, just to get everyone in the mood. Plus, no one will say no to rendang daging and ayam, soto, nasi lemak, lontong, ketupat and what have you!

At first we thought, yeah ok, probably just a couple of friends over, some Raya food, good company and raya songs. Little did we know, that the number would multiply tremendously. Our friend brought a friend who brought another and brought another 3. So from the initial 10....we have a feeling that it's gonna be 30 or more now coming over!

HOW TO COOK FOR 50?!

4 KG of beef. Checked.
5 chickens. Checked.
Ketupat. Checked.
2 KG of rice to make nasi lemak.
Litres and litres of santan. Checked.
Su'un, fuchok, serai, daun pandan, asam keping, cili padi....Chinatown has become our second home.

After this open house, I have a feeling we can open our own restaurant! Bring it on!!

SKYFALL Day 59

The perks of having your school next to Royal Albert Hall.

We came out of lectures just in time to witness all the celebrities hoovering around our school before the SKYFALL premiere today!!! I was wondering why people were so dressed up and why Amanda went gaga over the boys in suits and then she mentioned "I just wanna see Danial Craig!"

Who?!

"James Bond!"

Hahaha! They're learning to talk to me based on the name of the character in the movie instead of the real actors' names now. I am so bad with names and faces of superstar. Just really bad, I'm not even kidding!

The Book That Nearly Killed Me Day 58

My day ends way faster when I read a book.

It has been close to 2 months since I got to London and I have found a new happy thing to do. READ. Story books I mean, not school books. And I've come up with my read-a-book theory I was telling Su about: when I read, I feel like the time moves so much faster! By the time I get home, I almost feel like the only time I have for is, to sleep and study (or at least attempt to). And because school runs from 9am to about 6pm every day, I don't sleep very late for fear of feeling tired the next day. And then the cycle goes around again! Technically, my day finishes faster when I read a book without me even realizing it, get it? Yipppeee! I think I ought to get a Nobel Prize for this! :D

I don't know where I actually found the extra time, but considering that I have a driver here (bus driver and tube driver?), I do have the luxury to spend the extra time everyday. In the tube, in the bus, when I walk to and from the stations.

Last week, Su suggested that I walk instead of taking the bus to the tube station. Only because we've been eating like we've never eaten in a million years. She walks ALL THE TIME whilst I usually take the bus since I've already paid for my monthly pass anywayyy. But I agreed, in the name of losing weight losing the nasi lemak calories! :)

Today, as promised, I walked from the tube station back home after school and this time decided to finish up a book. So I read my book whilst walking, a skill Su is trying to teach me. I only have ONE CHAPTER left homaigod!! I can't seem to put it down as it gets closer to the end. Guess what happened? I nearly walked into a lamp post. FAIL.

...But the best was when I came close to walking into a car that was driving towards me. Oh my goodness. But instead of getting scolded (like I pictured it would be back home), the driver was so sweet : "You're surely very into the book darling, must be an interesting one! Got to watch out for cars too now. Have a great rest of the day finishing it up!"... and then he smiled. Awww!
So who to blame? Me or the book (for being so interesting)? Oh well, I just finished my 3rd one now in which one was a second time reading and onto my 4th which my housemate (she's a super bookworm) has gotten me a new book. Then the 5th which favourite London Banker just received in the office and one's coming from Malaysia. I have 3 other books in the way! Whooopee!

I have a feeling...most of the parcels that get sent over to Barclays are addressed to me! It almost feels like I'm working there! Haha! The convenience of having my housemate and favourite Banker working in the same Bank. They become my super postman. Love! :)

Raynaud's on Day 57

Conversation with my cousin, who happens to also be my Doctor

"OMGGGG! My hands are so super blue today! I swear I could have killed myself for not reminding you about this. I used to get this when I was an undergrad too, bila sejuk, it swells up like a helium balloon! Quite fascinating though. Should've gotten you to check!"
"Blue? Psycho la. Is it painful?"
"No"
"Is it stinging"
"No"
"Aiyo, then what?!"
"I don't know. You're the Doctor! It's so swollen, it's probably 150% the size of my left hand and it gets really warm, but it's not painful. Just that it is so swollen that it is hazardous. When it's so swollen, I cannot write. I cannot write means, no point la going for lectures. And if I don't go for lectures means, I won't know what the lecturer had taught us and that just means I might as well not do Masters...."
"-________-"
"I'm serious!!!"

...conversation went on for another 10 minutes and then...

"You have Raynaud's"
"What?! Isn't that a car? Renault?"

So yeah, I have been diagnosed. I have Raynaud's. *cries a river*. So I went home and went crazy on the internet doing research.

Well, Wikipedia says "Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress. More specifically, it is a hyperactivation of the sympathetic system causing extreme vasoconstriction of the peripheral blood vessels, leading to tissue hypoxia."

"So what do I have to do now?"
"If there's warm water, run your hands under warm water. Eat Vitamin D and Cod Liver Oil"
"Eeeeewww! Anything easier?"
"Yeah. Balik Malaysia. No cold, no stress. Perfect!"
"Hello?! Seriously la!"
"Well, I do love Abercrombie & Fitch. So, get their jacket and keep yourself warm, I'm serious. You'll even forget that your hands are cold, you can hold ice"

Sorted!
Omg, I'm in love with this jumper! SO. SUPER. WARM. I can even stuff myself with extra frozen yoghurt and ice cream and still feel warm and fuzzy!! And I even forgot I have Raynaud's now!

Btw, Pink Berry's natural yoghurt and watermelon flavour is so awesome!! I can have them all day long! :)

On The Loose Day 56

This is for Ikhwan

When I had to keep up with this gorgeous girl the whole of Sunday!! She was sick, but she was surely energized and quick when it comes to shopping. Super Sunday love with Sherara! :)

Even the bag was bigger than her by the time we finished! She was down in London for a night, but she went back with a fully packed luggage :D

Laser Tag Day 55

You have got to play Laser Tag in London

IT WAS SO SUPER AWESOME I BURNT A WEEK'S WORTH OF CALORIES I SWEAR!

So fun!!! Especially so when everyone was SO INTO IT, running like Usain Bolt, shooting everyone like a serial killer. The set up however is a little different than when I played back in Malaysia. It was in a 'gudang' like place, super dark, and had no base camp to run back to. Instead there was a massive piece of empty land that you can run around like crazy! I must say, I was quite a sharp shooter since I was well hated by Azim who wanted to win :P Seriously, want to win? Just hide! That's what I did! haha!

Tiring but definitely not our last time playing. We played at Bunker 51, North Greenwich. Next one, we're giving the one at Trocadero a try!
:)

Perfect Friday Day 54

If there is a person who can 'educate me about Tiffany & Co', it has got to be my very own housemate! It's either she really loves them, or just because there is a shop at Canary Wharf where she works. Either or, I was excited when I came home to this!
:)
We decided to spend the night in with the girls, catching up over nasi lemak and having a surprise birthday dinner for Iman...but of course there was this particular Banker who was sesat in the house, feeling a little left out amongst the girls, so he sat well away playing by himself. Oh Azim! :P
We laughed so hard, we extended the set time to finish and we just had loads and loads of fun. it's Friday and work just finished, so did school. Instead of a typical Friday night out, we had an awesome night in!! More happening than those who went our partying I'm pretty sure. We got so drunk over nasi lemak and coke float with ice cream! LOL!
Always picking on each other like old married couple! Too adorable!
Birthday girl with the best cake in the world from Konditor & Cook!

After MarrZim and Sherissa left, we ended up sleeping at 2 in the morning without clearing anything at all because no one could stand up anymore by then! Everyone literally crashed out till Subuh.
Just us girls. A boy. and loads of stories and cakes! Superb!
