...definitely for Bursa Malaysia.
I don't know bout you guys, but I nearly spat out golf balls on the course when Fir texted me and Hafiz saying that "we're dead. SGX and ASX are coming together".
For a moment there we forgot what Golf is and what these whole inaugural Asia Pac PGA Tour Golf is all about (eventhough it's the biggest thing happening in Malaysia). What's becoming of Malaysia? I thought our roadmap looked pretty convincing and positive after the launch last week, till our stock exchange got caught off guard! SGX's proposed takeover of ASX should definitely already tinkle the warning radar at it's maximum by now. No more space to even ring-a-ding-dong anymore.
The proposed acquisition of ASX by SGX for A$8.4 freaking billion, should it pan out will make up the world's 5th largest by market value and ranked as 2nd largest stock market in Asia by number of listed companies. "Oh my FBM KLCI!"
Already, Tokyo - the largest market in Asia - has come out to say that it will consider forming international alliances if SGX succeeds in taking over ASX, don't tell me we have no plan B. Or at least a plan lar. We're well way below Tokyo's stock exchange and can still stay calm, hanging on to the fact that 'government has announced many plans for the country and these plans will require tremendous funding and mostly from private sector. So definitely all this activity will attract investor attention'. Plans are easy to make. Implementation is what public wants to see.
Vibrancy and potential tie-ups with other exchanges is what Bursa needs to keep up with the pack for definite.
Well, I understand that Market Velocity is a measure of how often a market turns over its value. So, if all small companies are traded very low, the average will probably, the average will probably be very low. Indeed we need the big caps to be traded much more. They have to be attractive as an investment opportunity. so, with that last definition and works of market velocity...

Was told tht Pet Chem will not be as good as PGB/PDB/MHB as the latter are monopolies. Listing price could be lower thn IPO. Did you buy any?
