When I was in high school, as a school prefect, we were made to practice it. It was one of the most important rule of thumb on board.
But what happens if that something get into an accident tonight? or maybe something happens tomorrow? Well, I foresee that maybe then the rest will start thinking of giving more attention and start caring for others and start the whole "I should have" and "If I had"... Realize the past tense and past present tense?
Last week at YCMS, a corporate speaker mentioned about an incident of this guy. He was a successful corporate figure during his time. Girls came at his finger tips. Money, he had much to last him a lifetime. Now isn't that what everyone wants? (Guys in this case). But he was one to think of many things. Scrutinise every little details and only settling for things that was deem perfect in his eyes. Zero flaws. Zilch. Crossing the option with even minimal flaws off his list. About what would happen (many many many many) years down the line. What if...? If this doesn't...? He inspected and predicted. It's only human for one or someone else (to think for you) to think of having the perfect life. But who is perfect in this world? Who could predict what will happen in the future? Unfortunately, he passed away before he managed to make his perfect decision. A point in time when he has had many opportunities and good decisions that came along the way. So, quoting Rezal Ghazali (OMD Korn/Ferry), he reminded the hall that fit about 500 young corporates that, "Good things come to those who wait. But not to those who wait too long"
How long will you stay on earth anyway? In Islam, we believe in the life after death. So, why make things complicated. Just live life the simple way and as long as you know your right and wrongs and all your obligations, InsyaAllah. To respect others, treat all God's creation well and to be wary of your doings :) How others treat you afterwards, it's never a waste to treat them well regardless.
P/s : Phoebaby, this is for your breakfast read on the way to London! I love you forever babygirl :)
